I said on another thread that I would await the Clubs side of the hand shaking issue before I'd make up my mind. Taking todays statements of Suarez, Kenny and Ian Ayre at face value it would seem to me that Suarez either misled Kenny and the club prior to the game or else couldn't bring himself to shake Evra's hand on the pitch, either way Suarez exposed the manager, himself and the club to the tender mercies of a hostile media mob and foolishly played into the hands of Fergie and Evra. On this issue I find Suarez in the wrong and I now say he has damaged himself, his manager his club and its fans.
On the issue whether or not Suarez ever racially abused Evra in the first place, my jury is still out as no proof has been forthcoming and the Kangaroo court's report admitted that much, and incredibly reported that in the absence of proof they were taking one mans word over that of another. For me Suarez is a LFC player and as he claims he didn't racially abuse Evra I feel equally entitled to take his word in the absence of proof that he did.
Finally I find it repulsive that the Kenny bashers who pollute this forum would use a players misguided action on the pitch to reinforce their destructive and senseless arguments, if they think they are being supportive of LFC by their persistent anti Kenny rubbish, they are being as stupid as their own words portray them to be .
+1. Very good post Annefield
agree completely annefield. as far as i'm concerned irrespective about the farce of an fa enqiry, when suarez goes on to the pitch wearign the shirt he carries responsibility to the club, it's history, reputation and traditions. i just felt that he abused our trust and kenny's faith in him. he lied to him.
i'd supported him all along. i had questioned evra, the fa and the system of prosectution. i took suarez's integrity to be fully in place. but what the past couple of days has shown is that he's capable of lying to kenny, a man who has stood with him every step of the way. it can only put a question mark over suarez' character.
over the weekend i was despondant about luis. but he has some serious work to do between now and the end of the season. the best apology he could make about lying to the manager is to bust his balls on the pitch for the rest of the season and show what he's really made of.
