Reina: 7 - had absolutely nothing to do in the second half but in the first made a couple of important saves to keep the game at 0-0.
Johnson: 6 - made some mistakes but still, didn't cost us anything and was quite good going forward
Skrtel: 8 - again this man was amazing. Solid as you could ever want in a centre back, made some fantastic tackles and unlike previous seasons, whenever i see him battling for the ball I'm expecting him to win and nit give away a penalty!
Agger: 8 - The other half to our great defensive pair, sad to say but seems dropping Carra and having Dan back to full fitness has been key to our solid defensive displays. As well as the delicious defending, hes as confident as any attacking midfielder going forward, and although often runs into a dead end wins us quite a few free kicks in dangerous positions.
Enrique: 9 - what can i say aout EL Toro? He was magnificent defending, magnificent going forward, some exquisit passing mixed in there, had to have been one of his best games for us.
Spearing: 8.5: Badly needed the wee fella back. He gave us some much needed stabilty in midfield, allowing our other midfielders to get forward without worry. Such a tenacious little tackler, not a bad passer at all, and always gives 110%, surely one of his better games also.
Hennderson: 7 - Also had one of his better games for us. Never stops running, he has good technique in there when he tries, can only see this boy improving over the next few seasons.
Adam: 6.5: Had a dyer first half, not his biggest fan but I'll be first to admit he played a much improved second half and was ultimately one of our reasons for winning the game. Two good assists, especially for the first, and some very good passing in between. Lets hope he can keep it up!
Kuyt: 8 - seems to be back to his old self, must have gotten a huge confidence boost from his winner against the mancs. Showed much improved ball control, his work rate as usual was excellent and he seemed to be poppin up everywhere like the Dirk of old. Took his goal very well and delighted hes finally reached 50!
Bellamy: 9 - Not much to say about Bellers, we all know what he gives. Passion, inspiration, never say die attitude, inspiration, and has all the skill and more to back it up! Got another goal and surely our player of the month.
Carroll: 8.5: Another much improved display from the big man. Seems to also be gettin his confidence back. Bullyin defenders, gettin in good positions for crosses, providing delicious flick ons, even showing bouts of skill with his feet. Thought he took his goal well, it was the first so very important. After his last two performances and a goal can only see him gettin better from here on in, as long as hes not dropped again...
Great summary of the performances LiamH, seems like you and I watched the same match! Seems to me some posters are rather ungenerous with their ratings, as this was a much improved performance all round with greater energy and commitment from all the players away from home. We have much needed momentum now going into the spurs game and I'm looking forward to avenging the last result.
