if we lift that cup it is going to mean a lot and it will take a lot of pressure of the players and the management. i think they are under too much and they have been carrying quite a burden of expectation. They are a reasonably fresh squad and they need something to celebrate, a day in the sun to remind them what it is to win and get them used to winning together.

we now have a real chance of getting our hands on our first piece of silverware in six long years. .
progress. under Dalglish. yes done great in the cup real done well but certain people in this forum wanted liverpool to give it up at exeter , comments like its worthless , play the kids, its 5hitty ETC ETC ETC , well geting through has proved its non of these things a long way from it in fact . its called being twofaced fazakerley, they all said sacrifice the Carling Cup as it's worthless top four is all that counts, earlier on in the season they were all saying if Dalglish was to win that and not finish top four he would be gone, now top four is gone there all saying its enough to keep him in a job, read the past pots if you dont believe me, like I say twofaced, The Carling Cup is a great trophy for us to win regardless, not as if we win trophies now is it.

I never said that, so what the hell are you on about?
And tell me, when did the season end? Because your talking as if it has, we still have many games to play, and it might be that the Bolton game is exactly what we needed.
We're still in the FA cup too, lets see what happens.

I would be delighted to win the Carling Cup and if it gives the team confidence all well and good, god knows we need some confidence at the moment we are at rock bottom judging by the last few prem games. However getting in the champions league and pushing for the title is what we must aim for. There is a notion here comuing out from some this is an aspirational target, something for the future, in three years. NO - this is a target for this season our owners said so and not one fan on this forum said anything less than 4th as I recall except red for life / Faz who claimed (rightly) we were,nt good enough. But how many other said less than 4th NONE in fact some thought we would win the title. NOW its 4th place in three years. What a total joke. I beleive the heart and soul of this club is dying there is no longer desire and fight just soft bellies.
IF YOU WANT TO BE HEARD SPEAK SOFTLY - BOB PAISLEY

I am reading some of the posts on here after our wonderful qualification to Wembley and are quite rightly dismayed by some of the responses and if am being honest my worst fears of coming home to roost by the sounds.
As I have said it's very nice getting to Wembley for the first time in 16 years and we now have a real chance of getting our hands on our first piece of silverware in six long years. My problem now is that there seems to people on here mellowing to the mess Dalglish has made this season just because he has got us to this final and this is wrong on so many levels. We need to keep up this pressure on the owners to do the right thing in the summer and releive this man from his duties otherwise we are set for another season of mid-table mediocrity after probably wasting another 70-100 million pounds on more rubbish. What people are forgeting is we are still exactly the same team with same players who was completely outplayed by Bolton Wanderers the very seem team with the worst home record in all divisions less than four days earlier. We also have the very same manager who named a team at home to Stoke City with no forward player in it and three centre halfs to mark Peter Crouch.
One of the worst things about winning a Cup is as much as it feels good it can also work against you and be a millstone around the Clubs neck, this is what happend with Istanbul, the Club never built on that in the Right Way and the fans expectation levels rose to the point they now have ideas of grandua, Our Souvenir Shop was'nt even open the day after Istanbul which says it all, If it was United they would of been printing tee shirts through the night celebrating there success.
All I want is for fans to be fair, we are all happy to be at Wembley and hopefuly we will win the Cup, but lets not let it cloud our judgement to the point it harms the Club, we need to judge this manager on the true yard stick which is the league not in any Cup competition. Our owner John Henry has publicaly stated at the start of the season 4th is our minimun and I am quite happy to go along with that, if we qualify for the Champions League then great Dalglish should remain, if he does'nt then fairs, fair no Wembley final of Carling Cup win should save him. Some of us will stick by our manager and support him and if he fails then we will shake his hand at the end and say thanks then move on. In the mean time why can't you show your support like you said you would under your stevemcmahon persona?..I bet your that guy that left at half time in Istanbul.
