Henry's plan is the only one that matters. Without that it does not matter a fig who the manager is or how well he does.

I know mate but its not good enough is it? If the top half of the table with a shout of Europa is your goal then fine. I thought we were aiming to be a top 4 side. At what point is has all this gone by the wayside and does John Henry know? I cannot help feeling any other manager you would not have this attitude. Its almost as if LFC does not matter anymore its the pro vs anti Kenny debate that matters. Its tearing this club apart at the seams.

You're right Stan, I guess its down to expectations, I don't want Europa I want CL and I want a team that can compete at that level but we don't have that yet.
I do think Kenny can take us part of the way there. For example I don't see him as the great tactician that Rafa was in CL games but he is the manager and if we don't give him our support then how long do we give the next manager before we attack him?
And I do think John Henry knows. I'm an Irish transplant in Boston, I live a mile from Fenway Park and I've seen how Henry transformed the Red Sox, but it took a few years, maybe its not so much the anti v pro Kenny as it is the anti v pro patience

"anti v pro patience".....spot on mate you hit the nail right on the head but that's how football is now. Sad?, maybe but it's a fact. A lot of people harp on about how it took fergie 7 years to win the title. i guarantee ya there next manager wont get that long....

These 3 and 5 year plans are just a ready made excuse for managers that don't deliver. I don't buy it at all.

Well would you attempt do anything complicated, difficult or major without a plan caligula? If so I wouldn't like to live in the house you would build! Considering where we were at and from where Kenny and Fenway started a 3 year plan would be the minimum one would reasonably expect, and that which menace2u sets out above seems reasonable to me. Of course I would love to get a top 4 in their first year but that is being optimistic. A reasonable target would be a cup this year followed by a 4 place finish next season.

im a realist i use my brains and eyes KK and fenway sports saved us from a dark period of our great history Liverpool. he stated straight away it was a 3 year plan maybe thats why we have invested so heavily into youth players and that is also fenways prefered method in the transfer market rather than buy established stars which is why i believe its a 3 year plan i have faith in KK he stuck by us when we didnt want him he wants to manage this club and bring back the glory days just makes me laugh everyone wanted hicks gillett hodgson gone they delievered that and a year later they are expecting champions league... premiership title... we have spent hardly anything compared to what Man city and Man utd chelsea have spent over the last 2-3 years. all im saying is give keeny his chance has everyone forgot about the amount of times we've hit the woodwork this season? if only 1-3 of them went in i wouldnt be writing this post as everyone would be on there high horse....

So why did John Henry say our minimum target this season is 4th place that is the minimum expectation? Did he not know his own mind is Menacef U now running the club?
