Just how many goals has he actually scored for that BIG club then?

So apparently we're after 2 strikers, one for now and one with potentual, that will get better, ones meant to be a south American from the Dutch league.

I read on a few sites that one is believed to be a uraguayan fella by the name of David Texeira. His goal scoring record looks good too. He could be he one for the future, but look like he wouldn't be bad now either.

Rumours are Texeira and Castaignos,I would question how much Grob would actually know about transfers, two young lads trying to find their way in the game,is that what we require at the moment?

I think if we go for 2 options, one of them would be a good option along side a more experienced striker. Think we should go for Remy myself. What we need is pace, with the finishing touch. Both of which Remy has, hands down, bloody good player!

we are entering a difficult period in our decision making. the form of Carroll is worrying and other players have not really reduced the goal scoring burden. 1 more league game and Luis is back so in theory more chances will be created, SG more than capable of filling in some of the gaps(goals) and we think him am Luis will be good together.

So do we stick or twist? gambling on another player coming into the club brings many problems. We want to build long term so a young talented probably foreign player will do the trick. That said he may take 6mths+ to settle, so why not wait until the summer when the process is so much easier and cheaper?
An older more experienced and local player may drop straight in but come the summer we need to move that next step up again, we already have several older players who will likley move on Kuyt, Maxi, Aurelio.

My thoughts are to stick as we are unless a miracle deal can be obtained. A scoring Carroll would solve most of our problems though.

Would it not make sense to bring in the young foreign player then this january with a view to next season rather than having to wait until Christmas for them to settle if we get them in the summer? Ferguson used the January window to buy the likes of Vidic and Evra if I'm not mistaken and used the end of the season to bed them in and have them ready for the following season

Seems a swap deal of sorts could definitely be thrashed out between the two clubs with with cole and maybe a small fee for him?

Would you welcome Granero! I've seen him play for Getafe and was a good player!

Look, i see your point and I know you aren't a fan of Torres, but just tell me, did you feel that his form was picking up under kenny, he did score a couple when Kenny took over, just before he left for Chelski. I think his form was starting to pick up and he was gonna go on a scoring run. I feel that Chelsea's style of play doesn't suit him, just like ours doesn't really suit Carroll at the moment. Carrol feeds of good balls into the box, somethin g we are not supplying at the moment due to our wingers constantly cutting inside... I just feel that Kenny could definately get him firing again...

Now I analysed our transfer dealings and here is our history under Kenny...

Cost of players brought in by Kenny Dalglish
Henderson -16m
Adam - 7m
Downing - 20m
Enrique - 6.3m
Coates - 7m
Bellamy - free transfer
Suarez – 23m
Carroll – 35m
TOTAL - 114.3 million

Fees received for players leaving LFC under Kenny Dalglish
Konchesky -1.5m
Mavinga – 1m
Gerardo Bruna -0.75m
Ayala -0 .8 m
Poulsen -1m
N’Gog -4m
Meireles - 12m
Torres -50m
TOTAL - 71.05 m

Net Spend – 43.25 m

Now if we were to add to that net spend, another lets say 30 million for Torres, it would mean that for a combined total of 70 million spent, we could have changed our frontline from Torres, N'Gog, Kuyt, Maxi to Torres, Carroll, Suarez, Bellamy, Downing which is a much stronger line up, there is no denying that, and has 1 player more, hence extra depth. Furthermore, that net spend of around 70 million would be lowered closer to the 55-60 million mark after we recieve fees for Kuyt and Maxi...But lets say those 2 stay, then for 70 million we have changed our attacking options from Torres, N'Gog, Kuyt, Maxi to Torres, Carroll, Suarez, Bellamy, Kuyt, Maxi, Downing...which gives us many more options...I think bringing Torres back for a fee no more than 30 million would be a good piece of business from the financial point of view and with the belief that Kenny could get him firing again I strongly believe it would make good footballing sense too. Will it happen? I highly doubt it, as a matter of fact I would put the chanes close to zero but I do think it would be good business.
