Thats pretty impressive but hard to reconcile with our signings in 2011. Maybe they will come good or he had an off day.

He was after Carroll for Spurs before he came to us which is why they were bidding over £20m for the big guy. The mistake was not paying the £35m as Torres went out. The mistake was paying £35m for a player who was ripped away from his home town and who was 5 weeks away from being fit to play.

I see Defoe is being mentioned all over the place. I think he is a decent player, even though he does not get much of a look in at spurs.

Defoe is way too hot and cold. If he were good enough he'd be playing.

Comolli is also keen on the idea of re-signing Fernando Torres for a knocked-down fee but his opinion isn't shared by everyone at Anfield. Chelsea could be tempted into doing business but it'd be very complicated. The player himself is up for a return.
