The fact that he speaks the language and probably knows some of the young lads from the England set up would mean he wouldn't have problems settling in the area, also another for the homegrown rule,in my opinion Zaha is no better than what we have, reminds me of El Zhar a bit,he is very overpriced if £10m valuation is correct.

Ive not seen this zaha but having made 30 appearances he has 5 goals and 8 assists in the championship its hardly mind blowing and he isnt gonna be the natural goalscorer we need. Also if we cant get a top quality player as no champs league id be happy with leaving it as i think the team have it in them to get top 4 if a few areas are tweaked mainly finishing and winning mentality,

Don't mind if we get in a striker from the championship because they seem to do well when they come up to the premiership but a 19 year old is not what we need in my opinion. Bring in experienced finishers. Holt is a good example.

Perfect would be someone around 25 I think - still room for improvement but yet some experience gained.

Yeah, I am not suggesting we bring in Holt just an example of a championship striker performing well in the league. Another one that we could of got was Long who is not that old too.

Yeah, but neither of them looks to be a safe bet of improving our squad.
What we need now is someone who goes straight into the starting XI and actually changes things instantly.
We already have truck loads of future prospects in our ranks to choose from.
What we don't need is another Carroll character who on paper looks ok, but turns out to be £€$ totally wasted on!

Liverpool are preparing a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero, according to the player's agent.
The 24-year-old has found opportunities limited under Jose Mourinho and is keen to move to boost his chances of playing for Spain.
And Granero could join the Anfield club for £8million in the summer.
'He's finding his chances limited at Real,' his agent Teofilo Lazaro told the International Business Times.
'He's keen for a move away - possibly to Liverpool.
'If he can't play at Madrid then he'll play somewhere else. It's as simple as that.'
Mourinho is keen to move Granero on which could scupper Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish's chances of snapping him up.
While he won't leave Spain in January, the former Getafe player is willing to move to another club in La Liga.
Granero initially left Real Madrid in July 2008 in order to join Getafe, but following an impressive spell at Los Azulones, his former club exercised their buy-back option and he returned to the Bernabeu just a year later in a £4 million deal.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move.

Zaha for £10m, why don't we loan out some of our youngsters to the championship so their value goes up. Does that mean shelvey is worth £10m after his stint at blackpool

Villa are apparently interested a swap deal involving Bent & Carroll.
I think this would have been a good idea. I wouldn't want to pay any money for Bent but swapping him for Carroll who doesn't fit into our gameplay would solve two problems.
Bent would score goals we desperately need and we could get rid of Carroll as I can't see anyone paying good money for him atm
