Maxi has looked dire in his last few starts too!
Maxi provides a goal threat at the far post. In every other moment of the game he provides exactly nothing, and should therefore never be anywhere near the squad. However, we are so poor at scoring goals that we need him.
Adam has been wretched. A squad player when we signed him, right now he should be with Maxi in the reserves were it not for injuries to Lucas and Spearing. Would pick Henderson ahead of him every time.
If we're going to have no specialist DMs available for a match, then why do we play a formation that needs one? Why do we persist with putting 9 men behind the ball? Are we the new Stoke, just with shorter, more expensive players? Is this the only way we can be sure to concede at most 1 goal? If that's true then we need a new CB pair and RB immediately, because the ones we have are clearly total rubbish (Enrique can stay - he's actually good when he's allowed to use the ball).
