havent questioned that at all, if you read my posts i said all along even last week that we could beat chelsea with a weakened team and we did. just dont think lucas should have been started he s the only player we have in that dm role.
it was a bad decision.

These things happen. we will miss him but let's get over it. There is still much football to be played this season so lets keep our eye on the prize.

Are you some kinda psychic? How on earth do you know it will affect us in the league. perhaps as a result of this injury we end up as a more offensive side... Your knowledge of how football works is quite obviously minimal. Liverpool is not a 1 man team! We dealt with the injury to Stevie, we dealt when Torres left, we will deal with Lucas' absence!

I've come across electrons that are more positive than you!

a very costly mistake was made last night in playing him as he is one of our most important players, we need this guy in the league not the carling cup and playing him in this
mediocre competition last night is gonna hurt our league campaign badly.
some on here protested that we should have had a full strenght team out last night. i was of the opposite opinion as you just CANT play 2 top level games in 48 hours.
its all well and good winning the carling cup but if we dont get 4th this year we are screwed pure and simple.
lucas being out for any substantial amount of time is gonna hurt us badly, and it was a stupid decision to play him.
irish kop i see where you are coming from and i do support yr view to a point. i would have personally rested lucas for the last game due to him being the only player that is a good DM. i can also see the point of all the other poster saying he could have got injured in training

it was LUCAS who went into the tackle. he wasnt tackled. he went in recklessly and injured himself, so if you want to blame someone, blame lucas. or else just get over it, fckin hell.

Mental fatigue can set in causing a player to put himself in injury causing situations where he would normally play more defensively. The players had a very high tempo game with Man City days earlier. Lucas especially but it was essential he played. Kenny was right to make an issue with the fixture list. I am happy we we won the match but not happy at all we lost Lucas.

No. The coaches would have eased off on the physical training becaues of the earlier stress, in this case the game against ManCity and concentrated more on tactics. Not added on to the physical stress.

yeah because thats the answer. end of the day we injured a top player in a nothing competition and its going to hinder our league campaign, just goes to show how far our club has slipped when our supporters mentality is similar to that of a club like everton just happy to be heading for a carling cup final and giving up on main priorities because it seems a bit difficult. pathetic

Might I ask why you weren't this bitter when Gerrard was injured in a meaningless England friendly about this time last year after Capello had him play the whole game rather than the 60 mins he promised? To hear you, one would think Liverpool revolved entirely around Lucas, that this was some 5-a-side tournament and our star player is out for the season. If you don't play the people who make a difference you won't get the results you need.

I remember last season that we dropped points in every game in which we had a player injured (after Jan). We still very nearly finished 5th. The loss of Lucas will be a problem, but you can bet that the rest of the squad will be doing their utmost to ensure his absence doesn't become a crisis.
