Lie in the daylight!! Every Red fan knows that Gillette and Rick Parry were on Rafa's back when they planned to replace him with Klinsmann and may still thinking that option.
I just hope Mr Hicks and other senior managers support our great manager. How could you improve the squad with 20m and want the title when the rivals pay much more. Rafa sold and bought not just the Manx who stock their signings and warm the bench. Just look at their bench. How the yanks want the title when our bench is no match with our rivals.

they cost that alone, but not upfront. Jhnson we used the amount pompey owed us for crouch, set off the balance. Aqulani is not 20 million at one, it is in installments.

Has Benitez spent nearly 20 million each on Aqulani and Johnson yes or no?

It is well documented that pompey owed us 7million for crouch, so we paid in 10million difference.

Aquilani fee in total is 20million, i think 10millon upfront, with 2 installments each year afterwards. This fee is in direct proportion to appearances.

Also if we win the title, Roma get a bonus payment.

Every year torres scores more than 30 goals, we got to pay atletico 300000 pounds.

We got smart, we pit in bonus clauses in alonso deal too.

Benitez has been given money, he has been allowed to bring in the players he has wanted Reina, Garcia, Alonso, Torres, Mascherano, Johnson and Aqualani to name but a few. It does'nt matter if we have sold some on and made profits, he has still brought them to the club to win the league which they have'nt so that is what he will be judged on not whats at the bottom of a balance sheet for shareholders to read. People say he never got some of his first choice players but that applies to all managers Ferguson never got Alan Shearer, Ronaldinho, Gerrard or even Torres when he wanted him a few years ago, Chelsea never got Gerrard, Villa or Ribery and City never got John Terry or Eto so you see all managers miss out on there first choice players. At the end of the day the waiter has spent close on 250 million pounds in just over 5 season in trying to win us the league, we have only competed in one league campagn once in all that time which was last season, his turnaround in players coming to and leaving the club in that time is obscene and proves that his judgemenet is not sound by any stretch of the imagination. We are just lucky he will be replaced this season, it's a case of when not if, i reckon as soon as we are bounced out of the champions league which could be xmas if we carry on playing the way we are at present.

i agree with your saying here, but when he lost evra and vidic who did rafa buy? Skrtel, when he lost malouda who did he buy?

You might be right that all managers loose targets, but look at how much they were given to spend on the 2nd choice. then look at our budget.

If you want a Ferrari, you mis out, but its fine if you can buy the next best thing, say for example a lamborghini, but if you missed the ferrari, and your budget only allows a Mid range BMW, then what?

he has been given money, he has spent money, but he was forced in some cases to look for a mid priced player as compared to a 1st class player. IF rAFA had the same budget as murinho, im sure he wouldnt buy Riera or Kuyt. Im sure he would have chased big players.

for sure, Villa, Silva. remeber he also wanted Eto.

He wanted Kaka Kaladze, thats when the problems came forward, when rafa was told he cant have kaladze. I would have taken kaladze over kyriakos

totally different situations anyway - when fergie missed out on his targets it was because the targets chose not to sign for man ure not because the club refused to put up the money to buy them!!

rafa has not had the backing that the other top four managers enjoy!

if the waiter was a good enough manager he would'nt need to break the bank for players, if he never wasted so much on Keane he could of bought Arshavin, never wasted so much money on Mascherano he could of had the pick of any of Villa, Aguerro, Joachine or Simoa who at the time never cost as much as they do now, thats what i mean about the waiter's judgement he is so obsessed with being defensive he spent the money on them types of players instead of ones who were going to turn all our draws into wins. If you look at our three biggest signings only Torres has been attacking Mascherano and Johnson are both defensive players, he was even trying to bring in another near 20 million pound player in Gareth Barry only the owners put there foot down, the club will never be any different under Benitez and to win the league in this country you have to gamble maybe losing a game in order to win a game which the waiter just isn't prepared to do.

don't talk rubbish ged - rafa wanted aguero when the price was 3.6 mill but parry, in his infinite 'wisdom', decided the price was too high .... so no we could not have had aguero

there are numerous similar occasions too

as for calling johnson defensive you are just showing what kind of idiot you are! his problem is he can't defend ffs!

bob paisley regularly spent big money on players - are you going to tell me he was crap because he needed to break the bank for players? or perhaps clough was rubbish coz he spent a mill on trevor francis? or fergiescum doesn't know what he is doing because he spends big money on players regularly?
