stanley souey's record wasnt good and the one error of judgment i refered to was the article which he has admitted to but was misinformeed by the club about at the time , yes the methods souey applied to training and preperation were ahead of there time , now it done automaticly , he did do things far to quickly but he also did some good things IE rob jones, robbie fowler , steve mc mananaman , playing jamie redknapp and mark wright after a poor start ended up being a rock and one of the best , and won the F.A.Cup plus his feats as the greatest captain and midfield enforcer he won everthing yes manangement tranished but p;aying career bright as a diamond souey is a legend a true liverpool legend and should be reconised like one .
I finbd ir amazing that someone who invests so much venoim and spite in attacking Rafa Benitez for anything you can think off, would come on here and defend Graham Sounness - arguably the most appalling manager in Liverpool's long and largely proud history
Forget Ferguson, he was the man who single-handedly knocked Liverpool off their perch, with his confrontational approach to man management and his replacing of quality with utter tripe
Daglish can't get off the hook completely - he hadn't taken enough action to refresh what was by ther time of his resignation an ageing squad of players who clearly weren't as good as they once were - but it was Sounness who essentially turned us into what we are today - pretty far away from being the best team in England
Houllier made us a very hard-to-beat cup team by solidifying the defence, and Rafa took us one stage further by turning us into one of the big European sides - but neither could deliver the holy grail and apart from one season each, they didn't really come near
That's how much damage Sounness reign did, and sadly it will always tarnish his otherwise legendary status at the club
It literally beggars believe that someone so harsh, unforgiving, and mean about so many aspects of our club (some of which I wholly agree with I hasten to add) would defend him in such a whole hearted fashion
