cant you rafa haters give the man credit for what he did achieve. i honestly believe if he had that kind of financial backing kenny has had we would be in a much better position then we are now.

I would not agree Houliier left us in a mess problems yes, mess no. The team that won the champions league in 05 was houillers tean in essence and so was the 06 FA cup team
yes his last year was a mess and it was the right time to sack him and am not sure bringing him back would be a good idea but i have upmost respect for the man as a manager and as a man.

gerard houllier is a bigger legend than benitez deserves more credit he brought back the glory days to liverpool he not only brought the CL back to liverpool he won liverpool's first european trophy since 1984 and the first final since heysel which was a massive event for me a bigger deal than istanbul for all that it meant to us who were at heysel , plus he took the domestic cups very serious unlike benitez , yes he left some bad players but never left the squad in as bad of a state as it was left by benitez .

really?

some of Rafa's players have gone onto to play for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and with 3 world cup winners at one time in the squad is the best since 1966. It was Rafa's time to move on and good luck to him but to say we were worse off is way off the mark - Respect his great achievements. Without financial crisis brought on my messrs Hicks/Gillete we might not have been in the mess we were.

I was not having a go a rafa cp1972 or his achievements I was defending Houiller. I don't think he left us in a mess and I thought Houliier did a fine job and his medical issues were a factor and he might have gone onto better things.
