The Reds face Manchester City in the league on Sunday, November 27 before travelling to London on the Tuesday and an angry Dalglish admits he may have to field an under-strength side at Stamford Bridge.

‘It is disgraceful,’ he said.

‘If the Football League want to devalue their own competition, they shouldn’t be upset if people use these games to develop young players. Our fans should think carefully before buying tickets for the League Cup game.

‘We do not want them spending their money and then we decide there is no option but to use only young players in the tie.

‘Manchester City are in a similar position to us with their game at Arsenal and it's for them to argue their case, but it is my job to stand up for the interests of Liverpool Football Club.’

i thought kenny dalglish was different to other managers we have had who dismissed the domestic cup season in season out , and now it looks like he isnt if liverpool play the best team avaliable and get knocked out well thats what happens but to threaten to play youth players and tell the suppoters not to travel is just wrong , its not like liverpool havent got a big enough squad liverpool have millions was spent on it and he thinks it cant play one extra game , sad that it has come to this but kenny if you do this you are very wrong .
