Why not Faz? He clearly has the quality and it will be a good test for the lad. If Skrtel played he would give away silly fouls and probably get himself sent off. We need to gradually blend Coates into the team and Saturday is the perfect time to start beside a legend in Carragher keeping him right

Looking at the derby historically whenever the Bitters in recent times i.e under Golum have drawn or won a derby it's mainly via a set piece goal, with that in mind Carroll has to play.
