that kind of drivel might wash with the blind faithers who let's face it would be declaring it as a master stroke if we let Suarez leave on a free
Raul offers something different from the Henderson's and Adam's. Yes henderson might be more versatle and Adam might be better at delivering dead balls - but Raul's a better overall player - and one who performed well last season and was well liked in the dressing room
To sell him to a team we hope to be competing in the league with, and for no more than what we paid for him, is ludicrous in every sense
like aqualani he's been forced out by a manager who seems to thonk that nationality decides a players effectiveness
Regardless for the fees paid, Aquilani and Meireles are IMHO better players than Henderson and Adam, and far better than the limited Jay Spearing and the overhyped Jonjo Shelvey
Football's a squad game and getting rid of arguably the best two squad players in the team (neither AA nor RM made the starting 11) means we're going to suffer once the injuries come in because we've got nobody decent to turn to like Miereles who can do a job from the bench as he demonstrated against Arsenal
Kenny is a racist now.

looks like a masterclass in how to run a business to me.
It's not that clear cut The only good bits of business we've done this summer is Adam, Jose Enrique and Coates Like Torres when we got him, £23m for Suarez looks like a good bit of business But we've been ripped off for Downing, and let's not even get into the fees paid for Carroll and Henderson who aren't even worth half of what we paid Sending AA on loan - after being one of the only players to impress in pre-season - was a complete waste of the £20m we paid for him and will just ensure that we'll end up getting about a quarter of what we bought him for The club valued N'Gog at £7m and yet let him go for less than half that and sold one of their most promising players to one of their main rivals coates hasn't even kicked a ball yet and you can deem him great business but be derisory in attitude to downing and henderson. i think have brought the phrase 'kneejerk' to a whole new level.

i was just a fan who liked a player called raul meireles , maybe because he was a bit like terry mc dermott and being a bit older i thought he could be a good player for liverpool , but due to politics again rearing it ugly head at LFC again he leaves for chelsea , he has gone and thats it cant do nothing about it liverpool have good players in midfield plus gerrard to return soon maybe so in reality even though i enjoyed meireles as a player he shouldnt be a big loss , i think in my opinion it was the last minute annoucement which was the shock it had gone quiet just waiting for the bellamy signing then that news 10-30 pm , ok we all know it wasnt 10-30 he wrote out a request it might have been in for a few days , but he has gone scored some important goals and done well , but if chelsea is what he wants then he has got it , good luck to him like good luck to ngog , but liverpool move on and hopefuly for the better plenty of money spent a squad turned around all of the cr@p from benitez and hodgson all gone now and there should be no excuses now decent squad decent depth , lets keep going on 3 fronts for as long as possible .

Take the red specs off you moron The ignorrance on here just cements our position as the world's stupidest fans I know that most of the people who post here are kids but still The opinion seems to be if the player can't get into the starting 11 - as RM and AA couldn't - they are surplus to requirements Are people just too retarded to recognise that football is a squad game and the likes of RM and AA are far more likely to change a game not going our way than say Jay Sprearing or Jonjo Shelvey We've robbed purselves of two good players who coukd do a job when called to players who clearly can't - Spearing can play a good game but his talent is limnoired whgilst i haven't seen anything from Shelvey to suggest he's going to make an impact in the Premiership I hope like Lucas and Kuyt they can prove me wrong but yet again Kenny is getting away with something Hodgson and even Rafa would have hot slaughtered for - selling a quality player to one of our main rivals - but because it's Kenny he gets away with it Dispicible double standards

there should be no excuses now decent squad decent depth , lets keep going on 3 fronts for as long as possible . Our squad was deep because players like Raul were in it Now they are not who we turn to when we want to turn a game - Maxi Rodriguez, Shelvey? Players like Bellamy and Carrol (and let's face it he at the moment can't get into the first 11) can make an impact but a creative midfielder like Raul can help turn a game - as he did against Arsenal

There's no need for it at all. Not being in agreement with your own personal views doesn't automatically give people 'moron' status or make them ignorant. Raul wasn't going to start many games. The manager has signed his own players, and he has his own visions for the team he wants. I certainly didn't want to lose both Raul and Aqua. I wanted to keep one of them for depth. The sale of Raul came as a late surprise, but only because by the time it rolled along last night, I'd accepted that he was going nowhere at that stage. He would have been a great squad player to keep hold of, but I don't think he'll be missed. I was pretty furious when I heard he handed in a transfer request, but having cooled down and had time to think about it, I can't really blame him. He was verbally promised a payrise for this summer a year ago by the previous regime, and that never came. As a result i'm sure he wanted out. He hasn't looked happy this season at all. In the team, 9 times out of 10, Lucas or Spearing are probably gonna start in the centre. I can't see Kenny playing 2 attacking midfielders together very often. So that leaves Gerrard, Adam & Henderson to scrap it out for the other place. That's more than enough competition, and that's without mentioning Shelvey - and might I remind people who are so quick to harshly criticise him, that he's only 19 years of age. He has bags of potential, give the lad a chance.
