Seems like I only contribute to this forum when there is an OOT debate so let me contribute again. Firstly a quiz..

I live in Chicago - Does that make me an OOTer?
But Before that I lived in Hull - Still an OOTer?
Went to University in Manchester - Must be a scum spy right?
Born and bred in Ellesmere Port - Still an OOTer?

Here's what I think.

1. Do people who were born and bred in the city of Liverpool have a greater affinity with the football club than me - Yes, of course they do
2. Do people who go to games every week have a greater affinity with the football club than me - Yes, of course they do. I used to go to about 10 games a year, nothing beats the atmosphere and connection to the team.
3. Does that make me a 'lesser' supporter because I can't claim either of the above for myself - No, I don't think so

There is only one question:-

Do you support Liverpool FC?

If the answer is yes then the rest is just b@llocks.

SO Stanley where do you stand with this topic, you seem to be similar to me in that you have held your season ticket a very long time, do you see a fan who buys a shirt every few years and lives in somewhere like the far easy and has never been to Anfield the same as you when it comes to supporting the Club, thats all I am talking about not going into the OOT thing.

hang on there now. i was the one that you started this arguement with and i told you i travel from ireland at least five times a season to see games, so why are you bringing people from the far east into it who had nothing to do with the arguement.

Ermm no I think someone who commits to thick end of £1000 every year up front is displaying a high level of committment unless you are stinking rich which we are not. That said the days of the die hard fan who follows the reds home and away and to the finals are slowing coming to an end. No one can take those days away from me but it won't go on like it was in the past. I get a text a day from either Liverpool or Man U (Man U for business) and they are selling stuff all day every day. The new fan is world wide and buys products in bits and bobs the club goes for small purchases but in huge volume. Clubs are very very commecial and corporate. We are the old type of fans and a dying breed and I know that comment will set me up for all sorts of insults about time etc.
