you're not a 'better' supporter than someone who don't go to games. just the tought of competing with other fans about who's most important is pathetic...

what about me, My father is from liverpool but moved to Australia as a kid. His father was from Liverpool. I grew up watching old videos and what ever i could get my hands on. Supporting Liverpool has been bred into me by my family. Then as I grew older and my love for the club grew stronger and stronger I saved up all of my pennies and travelled from Australia to Liverpool solely to watch the mighty reds. I saw us play West Brom in 2002 and FC Basel in the champions league around the same time. My trip cost me close to 15 000 dollars all up. How many season tickets is that?

Also to watch Liverpool and follow from Australia most games are broadcast on pay tv PLUS they are on from 10pm through to 4:30am (particularly Champions League). They effort it takes to get up at 4:30am on a Wednesday morning to watch a game and then back it up and go to work is very hard to describe!

Now I don't think I am any better or worse than anyone else on here but I'll be damned if anyone is going to tell me that because I don't live in the city my support for LFC is any different in its merit!

I wonder if these people that moan about out of town fans have the same grievances about out of town players/staff.....? We wouldn't have won a thing without out of towners!!

Hand on heart i have never ever heard this rubbish before about scouse lfc fans calling ott.i have been to heysel and all the others too like you fazakerley but never come across this.i dont think i command or should warrant any kind of respect either just because of that.i know there are many ex pats as well abroad who follow lfc and woud tell you to gtf.
Only from evertonians do you hear stuff about norweigan reds etc.nasty srcastic comments.ots of it from them on other forums.Everton try to make out they are the true scouse club..hence moyses silly peoples club thing....reality is its their small mind mentality.
what about all those fans who come the city filling hotels spending in the shops airports etc.some fans come to liverpool as a lifetime ambition and im often humbled and overjoyed to see some of those guys who are like kids in a sweetshop by being in liverpool.
when respect is talked of surely it is very disrespectful to others to diss their dreams or interests in any manner.
so if a guy in hong kong or werever cant get to see the reds then that does not make them an inferior fan.Liverpool fc recognise this hence the reason why they tour asia etc embracing wordwide fan base and just to see the hystria of fans abroad tells you that their love of lfc is unquestionable.

Well that would be your Father and his Fathers Club because they have a connection with the Club through the City, I like Barcelona I have never been there and would never consider myself the same as a Nou Camp Season ticket holder as they are the proper supporters of the Club. I also like watching Brazil I have never been there either but love watching them in the World Cup I was brought up watching Cerezo, Falcao, Socrates, Zico, Eder, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo, but I would never dream of considering myself a proper Brazilian supporter the same as someone from Rio or Sao Paulo. I just think there is a difference between actualy supporting the Club as in going to the matches and paying for season tickets each season and watching on the telly or buying a few shirts every now and again and claiming to show the same level as support like most on here seem do.

Guess what faz, location isn't everything. Maybe people from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, United States, etc support clubs in the English Premier League BECAUSE ITS THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD AND IT BRINGS THEM MASSIVE SATISFACTION. Perhaps it's the only reason they have to live and it's the only reason they haven't committed suicide...yes, LFC is a savior to many around the world. They live, breathe, eat LFC without ever having gone to a match. And that's enough for them, knowing they will get to watch their beloved Reds week in, week out. But it's not enough for you, and I doubt they care one lick.

It's not our fault WE LIVE ON A DIFFERENT CONTINENT. I'm sure they have local clubs they support just like myself, but guess what, it just doesn't bring the same excitement and satisfaction in their heart as LFC does. Anyone can be a fan of this club son, and I'm sure they don't give one sh1t if you approve or not because you've gone to the matches for 30 years.

And btw, there are a lot of Brits who are MLB fans. Why don't you go tell them their opinions don't matter as much as an American's, and see how far you get. Just ignorant man, but you're surely entitled to your opinion!

The same as if all non-Manchester-born players left City. The same as if all non-London-born players left Chelsea. What's your point?

I've always found Scousers to be very welcoming and always got the message that they're proud of their working class roots, and would be more likely to look down on people who give it all this high-roller sh*t. It's one of the things that I think separates Liverpudlians from the likes of the cockneys. So to see the attitude of some of these people arguing like little children with all this "how much money did you spend? I spend more than you did, therefore i'm a better fan" sh*t, is a bit sickening, tbh. The fact is, the club needs all of it's fans equally. If you took all of the 'OOT' fans out of the equation, LFC would not have the money to compete with the big boys. Seeing this form if snobbery is really pathetic, and it gives the majority of purely decent Liverpudlians a bad name.

I always compare it to the likes of a band. Do people only support bands that come from their home town? U2 are one of - if not the best - band on the planet and they're from 5 minutes from where I live - should I claim I have more of a right to support them than any of their millions of fans around the world? If any of you 'hardcore' 'real' fans had to move to the other side of the country for whatever reasons, would you still fly across the world twice a week to see the team play? The snobbery and bigotry needs to stop, it's giving decent people a bad name and making this forum an unpleasant place to visit.
