I think also we have seen Liverpool when they dominated English football and there is a different frame of mind deep down. In fact one of the papers at once time made a serious proposal Liverpool played with 10 men for the good of football, they were that dominant both in England and Europe. But if you are in your 20’s today then really all you have seen is a good club but not a great one and Utd winning the league every year and Liverpool either playing catch up or almost getting there but never quite doing it. So this is the norm and is acceptable and that’s why we are seen as the pessimists on this site. We are not actually, quite the opposite it’s just hard to accept our status now. For me we will never catch up until we get the infrastructure right off the field which is why I am always rabbiting on about it. 100% spot on mate , and that is the point we have seen liverpool being the best team in europe and even the world , but most havent and might not ever see liverpool the best in england never mind anywhere else ..

Bloody hell,we all know we arnt the club we once were but if you have abump on your head its best to nurture it,not hit it with a bat.

Well if we know we are not the Club we once where, Why do so many people on here expect a Club like ours to win leagues or play in the Champions league every season like it's some devine right. Other Big Clubs who have fell away over the years Like Leeds United, Villa's, Spurs and Everton's there fans dont have unrealistic daft expectations of winning leagues and finishing in the top four every season, so why have our fans. The game has moved on since we were the Club we once were and dominated, we have been replaced with United at the top followed by teams Like Arsenal, Chelsea and City, this in the new landscape for the foreseeable future, these Clubs are more powerful and have more money, the way of the football world am afraid, we stood still for too long and thought our success would always be there, massive mistake were we have paid the ultimate price.
