As for Wickham, I hope we can get him. Would rather not spend silly money on him but if thats what it takes to secure the best young talent then why not? We've all moaned in the past that we haven't competed in the transfer market for this type of player. Now we are we're still moaning!
I have never ever moaned about missing out on players like Wickham. There is this fallacy that he is brilliant as the media whipped up an interest in him. If you watch him he doesn't actually have that much to his game. He will be good for Sunderland. But he would never have become a top striker for Liverpool. Glad we didnt waste our money on him.
