A deal for Mata would presumably be pretty difficult for us to pull off, and with Marveaux now gone to the money... i mean, to Newcastle, maybe there's room for us to sign both? Primarily, is N'Zogbia and right winger and Downing a left? Or have i got that arseways?

downing would more use to us, so downing, but i prefer nzogbia You'd prefer a player who is less use to us? Care to explain..... I think he means that as a player he prefers Nzomnia but thinks Dowing would suit our formation and style of play better so he'd rather have downing? yep, what murph said.

Or have i got that arseways? nzogbia is left footed but he is mainly a right winger, downing played on the right a lot for villa under houllier so he can play there, but much rather have him on the left

i like both of them but if it's nzogobia for £12m and downing for £19m then it's not so hard to choose....nzogbia.

If both of them comes at the same price I would choose Stewart Downing rather than Charles N'Zogbia. Even if he cost 2m or 3m more. The reason is Downing is more of a team player compared to N'Zogbia. His goals is lesser than N'Zogbia but he leads N'Zogbia more in assist. So as a winger we need someone who is more versatile rather than individualistic and a little greedy on possession which I can see is in N'Zogbia's game. But much as I like to see Downing over in Anfield , I would be gutted and disappointed if we pay more than 15m for him. He is not worth that much but if we are really going after him then I believe that King Kenny and Damien Comolli will put a player plus cash deal.

i wud pick nzogbia ahead of downing, if that was the only two choices, every day of the week.

I wouldn't have either of them too. Don't rate em personally but everyone had different views on players. If liverpool only buy one more player in Mata this summer, i'll be happy. We have a good team, it just needed the right manager to unlock it potential.

Is this really what it's come to? Which midtable player do we want to overpay for more? I hope to god those responsible for our transfers have more sense than to go for yet more average players. Having said that we did just pay 20m for henderson.
