I am yeah. Obviously you're implying that there's bias on my part, and maybe there is a bit. I don't know you, so i don't know how much you've actually seen him play, or how much you've watched him, but i've seen him play a lot, and i rate him. He's composed on the ball, a decent passer, a great worker, and a highly intelligent player. You're entitled to your opinion and i'm entitled to mine.

Didnt say you werent. I'm just pointing out at the his age he should be playing for a better side if he was as good as you and minority of people on here are making out. What he does playing for Ireland can hardly be used in context for what he does week in week out for Wolves. Its easier for him to raise his game for a one off match playing for the national side than it is every weekend in the premier league.

I think Doyle is a good player and does alot for the team, but isn't the standard we are looking for if we are to challenge for top 4 at least next season

I think if you look at most of the players who play for England, and compare their club form to their international form, that would prove your argument to be highly flawed...

Not really. The expectaion for England is a lot lot higher than its is playing for Ireland & Wales. Just look at Messi when he plays for Argentina or even David Healy when he plays for N Ireland. You cant compare a players performance at international level with their club form. Players of Doyles age are playing for the clubs they are for a reason.

I'd say that expectation has little to do with it. If you go into that, then you're talking about mental strength. How many players have you seen constantly rising to the big occasions with their clubs under pressure, and then going to play for England and completely bottling it? Tons.

For the record, i've said that Doyle is far from a world beater. I just think he's above 'average'. In his defence for last season, he was out injured for almost half the games i think, although his goal return was fairly poor last season even with that.

And, i don't think he's anywhere near good enough to be a first choice starter for us, but i think if he was cheap, he wouldn't be a bad addition to bring off the bench. There are a lot of better options for that though.
