CB wise i think Dann is the best value though, you know for sure he would give everything for the shirt. Quickness is my only concern, unless they plan on giving Kelly some CB playing time.

"Quickness" is only an issue for defenders who are slow at reading the game. Look at Sami - on of the greatest defenders of all time but even at his peak he was left eating the dust of local snails.

cahill's a good defender but only good and there are a few defenders that are as good if not better that have much more value for money

Interesting stuff in The Liverpool Daily Post this morning. The paper reports that Liverpool could be in for a busy week, with as many as five - count 'em - new signings in the next few days.

The paper reports that Gael Clichy has 'emerged as a serious target' while King Kenny is also mulling over bids for Stewart Downing, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Charlie Adam and Connor Wickham.

None of those names are new, obviously, but all in the next week? The Anfield fax machine will surely break.

imo dann and cahill should be way down our CB wish-list behind the likes of sakho, subotic, jones and i know it would take a big effort but dawson. i don't think we wanted jones i think we were trying and succeeding to get man utd ripped off like they did with us when we wanted adam in january.
