How on earth is Jordan Henderson better than Spearing or Jonjo? For the future maybe but to fight and win the league for next season, i have my doubts on that one.

And who said we were trying to win the league next season? No one, not even John Henry who suggested we would not be ready to challenge for the title until 2013.

Kenny is building a team that will win, and then keep winning. Look at Man City to see whether it can be done in a season or 2 by buying as many "quality players of today", and you will find it can't. Not now, not next season, probably not ever. They might win the title once, but they won't win it 3 times in 5 seasons, say, nor have the depth to win a treble.

You need raw material to work with, to grow the side from the ground up, and to nurture the foundational players of the future from the Academy. If we win the league by the time Henderson is 23 (ie Gerrard has just retired) he will find himself in a side that will hopefully have Sterling, Morgan, Amoo, and Suso *as well* as Suarez, Carroll, Reina, Meireles, Kelly, Robbo, and Flano, all of whom will be 3 years more experienced and hopefully twice as good as they are now, coupled with an intimate understanding of one another. Whoever is missing there (eg a Mata or Baines) will be bought along the way. The idea is that you craft a squad and then patch it up while it wins trophy after trophy, and then maybe in 7 or 8 years you have to do it again because everyone grows old at the same time (see Chelsea this season). Hopefully we will be as lucky as the scum have been in that the general quality of the league is abysmal while they're rebuilding. It's what Arsenal does, except that Wenger sells everyone a year too early because he needs the money to service the stadium debt.

I have to agree with you on that but with that kind of price, hell no. He is overpriced for a young player. Look at Lucas, Benitez bought him for just 5-6 million. He is a Brazilian U-21 captain at that time and he is still in the senior squad right now. For that kind of age and price, i think its about right. Its a ripped off. No wonder Sunderland gave Jordan their blessings to go to Liverpool. Anyway, we've got enough midfielders to be spending 20 million on that position alone. Well, we've to wait and see. And if 2013 is the target, i think the Scum will be celebrating their 21th title. Target doesnt mean anything to me. We have been waiting for so long. And every year it has been dissapointing. Target after target.

You can't compare Lucas' price to Henderson. Its been 4 years there about since we signed Lucas and in that time we have had City's money come in and Real spend like they're shitting it and that has over inflated the market prices. I remember people saying £6m for Lucas was too much but it was what you paid then and £16m (not £20m) is what you have to pay now.

Yes but Suarez is a completely different player yes he was a great buy but so will Henderson be you obviously want us to spend big money on big names but we are building a team not just for now but for the future buying these superstars is all well and good but you need team players more you will not win a thing with these celebrities in your team just like real Madrid for the last few years they don't have hunger for success they just want to be in magazines and on tv we don't want that at lfc we want good young hungry footballers if we had done this 20 years ago we wouldn't be where we are now chasing the scum .
