Its true we are well stocked in this area but in another aspect Gerrard is 30 and although Mereles is fantastic, should he get injured in say 3 years time we will be without an out and out attacking centre midfielder.. I see Henderson/McCarthy as the successor to Gerrard is 3-5 years time depending on who comes in... And if this is the case its great to see were looking towards a few top class 'marquee signings' as well as getting some english talent to set us up for the future.

Seeing as 6 months ago the stories were relegation and administration i find it impossible to be negative at the moment as were currently discussing Mata/Diego/Hazard and fighting Arsenal and United for Englands best young talent.

If you were to analyse our moves for Jones and Henderson it appears their 20m signing fees are a drop in the ocean

i've never said i know more about football than kenny but managers make mistakes even the best manager ever makes mistakes. and if he can, kenny can. we are aloud to have slight reservations. so you don't have any issues with the possible signing of henderson for such big money?

People are allowed to express an opinion and 20 million for an unproven player who may ahve done well for sunderland but if u look at the assists and goals there nothing special.
2o million could obviously be better spent on other players of the same age and role but if were willing to overspend everywhere thats fine. However if we want other players like mata having spent 20 million on henderson negotiations may become problematic.

Not really. Its not my money their spending. If Kenny and FSG decide its good business then I'm more than happy with their choices. Seeing as they have far more success in these sort of matters than any of us on an internet forum do.

okay fair enough.direct question, would you spend 20 million on henderson? because although i think he's a good player who'd i'd like to see at lfc im not sure i'd go that high for him.

If we chose Henderson over Mata i'd be up in arms with the rest of you but thats not whats happening. We can only sign british players until a certain date (cant remember what it is). It will be after the U21's when we will sit down with players like Mata and Enrique.

I'd have no problems in investing 20million in an up and coming English lad who's just broke in the England team.

All this money being quoted is coming from the press. Until the club make and offical statement saying we've signed henderson for 20 mill then I wont be naive to believe what the press in this country say.

Yeah i think its worth the risk,The media(sky) are creaming themselves for the last year or two over the fact that Fergie is interested in Rodwell who would probably cost the same amount or more.
