Who are we to think ourselves better at this than Daglish? Not a huge fan of Henderson but the LFC brass believe in him, then so be it. If you have built European winning sides, then please tell us how? I am sure Abromovich would pay very well for such knowledge.

Sahin I would consider a special case though, he wanted madrid or no one else, same thing Ozil did last year, Mancs or Madrid only.

Thank god the Mancs are half a billion in debt, Ozil would have been amazing as the play maker successor.

I don't see us buying any foreign stars to be honest. Our strategy is quite clearly young hungry British players, and the reason being is that foreign players want instant success and loyalty is not as prominant as British players. Torres and Masch were loyal for a while, Arsenal are in meltdown over players now wanting out - Vela, Nasri, Cesc, Denilson. Chelsea and City have to pay silly wages to keep players and even then still have the disruption of an Adebayor or Tevez. UTD have always kept a strong British/Irish core and those players underpin the fabric of the club. Brown, O shea, Fletcher, Evans, Gibson, are quite prepared to hang around and not seek first team football elsewhere.
The dressing room atmosphere is also really important and Dalglish is a master at getting a happy ship. This window will be about building for two years time. Henderson, Downing, Young,Wickham, McCarthy, Jones are in my view out top targets.

I think that he's a skilled player who will get even better under the guidance of KK.
If he is going to be even half as good as Gerrard is in the next 2-4 years, then it's 18mil very well spent.
