A very average one at that. No where near the kind of quality we need

I would love to seem him at liverpool. He is only 21, fast, smart, talented, and can score goals, imagine what he would be like once he is 25-26. But I would first see what he does in the premier league next year, and then someone can really judge.

Give him some time to mature and learn more and he will be big.

And I don't really see anything wrong with having great confidence and stating he should be playing for big clubs like real madrid, or barca.

i would like to see him here but he needs 2 add to his overall game and learn he is NOT the most important player on the field and needs 2 track back and work harder off the ball

compare him to are very own dani pacheco who since joining norwhich he has been ok his debut was fantastic you cant take that away from him but has become a bit part player and hasnt set the championship alight COMPARED to taarabt who has consistantly 9 times out of 10 shined and theirs only a year between them loan dani out for a year then sell on

Otherwise he'll become another Stevie G, right?

I agree with a lot of what you say on most topics, but you always seem to have a bit of a downer on Stevie. I don't know why? For my money he's the best english midfielder of his generation. If he was playing in the United team that had Scholes with all those players 'better than what he had around him here' (in most cases) I am very confident he would have been lorded as a step above the rest of England's 'golden generation'. I also think that would have helped him keep playing at the top of his game for longer, as he wouldn't have had to win games essentially by himself. Benitez would have not won a trophy if it wasn't for Gerrard.

Not seen much of this guy, apparently he has a huge ego and bad attitude, but if he is a world beater then lets scout him

Absolutely right, bloodisred. He is England's best, and he was instrumental to Rafa's successful seasons. The reason I'm down on him is that he lost something when he got arrested and he hasn't been the same player since. Sure he had a few influential games towards the end of 08/09, and finished the season as our highest scorer in the EPL yet without cracking 20. Since the end of that season he's been an average player who has had the occasional storming game (eg Napoli earlier this season). We stopped being a side that could win after going behind, the one thing that separated Rafa from the managers who had gone before him, and while the lack of Alonso helped our poor performances Stevie simply wasn't taking the game by the scruff of the neck anymore. In truth I'm disappointed in him because I've expected him to really show his ability to lead this side during this difficult period, to set the example of what it meant to wear the shirt, but at times it seemed instead that he was part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

Another thing: what I was actually saying with my earlier comment is that sometimes players who want to be in control of the game are exactly the kind of player you need. They tend to make good captains as long as you can manage their egos. So maybe this guy could be captain material, but perhaps not of Liverpool if he's not going to get his hands dirty.
