It's such a poor excuse when managers complain about the extra minutes. BOTH teams get the extra minutes, so what does it matter how long they play for?

correct. but what wenger fails to remember is its " a minimum of 8 mintues". the referee has to allow for stoppages during those 8 minutes i.e. the amonut of time taken for the arsenal penalty, the liverpool free kick.

The real reason he is pisd off is that his side of a quite remarkable ability to self destruct, ive never seen anything like it.

8m, +30s for the arsenal goal celebration means there is 30s to play after the free kick is taken, which was a professional foul. The ref was spot on.

Wenger's problem is that his team doesn't play to the whistle, and they don't mind finishing second. Lots of things wrong there, and they're being exposed brutally this season in this regard, as much as we are for depth (though we've turned up a few raw diamonds, eh?). Henry Winter's column has it spot on. Champion sides don't fold; Wenger's does every chance they get, ergo they will never be champions.

What annoyes me about this debate although its not really a debate as its only the fact told him to f off that makes it a talking point , is that apart from the obvious 'swings and roundabouts' or wenger is a big hypocrite which we will se more of if wenger feels his job is on the line .. the problem here is that hte ref is i believe obliged to carry on play if there is a an attack in progress the fact that the pen was scored after 8+ 3 is almost irrelevant, the other point is that you would expect him to accept that 8 minutes is not that much off 11 minutes, what i mean is that its different to lets say there had been a standard 2 minutes added on and the ref played 5 , there i would accept him to be a bit angry ? But when the game has already gone on for so much extra time anyway its not a great percentage of time extra that the ref added on lets say 15 percent ..Apart from that there was a free kick right at the end given as a free kick for liverpool right on theedge of the box and that should have been a penalty. The arsenal players also took about 60 seconds to put there wall in the coorect place,
And really wenger is rightly angry at the way his player bundled over lucas when he didnt need to be anywhere near him, IF you score a goal in 98 minutes you cant complain if the other team (who played as well as your team) scores in the 100th its a question of sportsmanship, thats why wenger has gone down in my rating he doesnt appreciate the spectacle and doesnt respect his oppostion for playing well on his own ground

I agree with thunder that arsenal are not winners i think if they won the league in the past it was by virtue of man united not doing well for most part and liverpool and ther rest not being good enough...
