It just occured I may never see a game at Anfield if they move. You see I have never been. Will be making travel plans soon.

You really you must go if you can,its the spiritual home and you mustnt miss the chance to experience it,i would be sad for anyone who cant get to Anfield and Liverpool itself! let alone if they knock it down first. wink

This is one great story...if true, but i understood there wasn't an option to extend at Anfield? It would be great though, if it can be extended to 70 or 75,000 without having to move. Just imagine that in full voice on a big european night! Magic!

We await the plans of the new owners. But anything less than a new stadium with a large capacity or the future option of a large capacity will condem this club to middling status for all time. These are truly very apprehensive times. Like I say we await JH's plans and they might be fine but I cannot help but worry.

if we can go straight to 60,000 with room to expand further to somewhere near 70,000 witch all reports i've read say we can and we are. i don't see the problem in fact its the best thing for the club much better than moving to some lifeless bowl where the fans are a 100 feet from the pitch

kop_swede if the anfield looks anything like that i'll eat hat

I don't believe existing Anfield can go to 70,000 without triple stands like OT. You will be looking at matchstick men from the upper tiers, total disaster. A new stadium entirely either on Stanley Park or Anfield or elsewhere is the only answer. A hotchpotch based on the existing stadium would give the results as above. It would also no longer be Anfield as we know it but a freak show.

i would prefer a move to a new stadium.....
dont get me wrong.. anfield is a nice place..
but.. no point extending it and make the fans suffer ...
imagine u are siting in the extension stadium

everyone said that the atmosphere...
but then ... w/o the fans.. anfield is just a empty stadium..
its the fans ... who make anfield atmosphere so terrific...
