Bloody Miserable talk. The best manager for the job is the man who can galvanise the team and the fans, the man who knows Liverpool and who has the right attitude. That's Kenny!
I can't think of anyone else who could do it better. At the end of the day Kenny has a proven track record from 20 years ago, and in half a season he's dragged us up from the bottom of the league. At least give him a full spend and a proper full season before you judge him so harshly.
Kenny is not being judged harshly by me, he is being judged fairly, and not sentimentally.
He hasn't managed a club in 10 years until us. His last two appointments ended in failure. Now if you had to go for an operation, who would you want. The brilliant surgeon that's been top of everything he's done, been successful in every operation (Mourinho), or the guy who hasn't operated in 10 years, and botched his last two operations before that 10 year period (Kenny)?
If you choose the doctor who hasn't operated in 10 years because he operated on your gran 20 years ago and did a good job, then that's fine, but it's for sentimental reasons and you should be aware of that. So I don't want to hear about his record 20 years ago. We were a great team 20 years ago, we're not now. Should we expect to win the league because we won it 20 years ago? No, that's irrelevant to now. Kenny's past is cherished in the heart, but in the head it is irrelevant to whether he should be manager or not now.
You say he took us from the bottom of the table. Yes he took us up to where we should be, i.e. 6th. That's where the team should be, not a miracle from Kenny.
I think Kenny is doing a good (but not incredible) job. I'm quite happy if he stays on next year. But if we can get a better manager then we should.
