Well our left-back and left-wing should be priority for the summer, if we can't get a good backup striker for Carroll and Suarez then sure keep N'gog. If we can, he should move on where he can get 1st team football.

Also Ecclestone and Ayala are 20, so they're grown men who have done nothing. Clear them all out? They haven't had the chances of N'gog though. But if they show nothing then yes, move them on, just like we did with Babel.

N'gog so far has notched up 56 appearences for us and according to the official website it's 84 appearences (probably including europe.) Eccleston has had 2 and Ayala 5, hardly a fair argument really. When you hit 50+ appearances and you are 22, you have to be showing something other than just making up the numbers. 50 appearences is more than fair to judge a player. He's just not red shirt material, would be better off at a club where he plays week in week out and one that is more his level.

Again, the difference between Lucas two years ago and now (from age 22 to age 24) is massive. All of our last 3 managers have played him regularly and rate him, because they know what he does for the team. 22 is still young, that was my point. And Ngog isn't that bad for 22. Certainly better than Spearing. Different positions, different players though. OK... Kelly is 20 and played far less games than N'gog and already has shown he's a far better player and one who gets 1st team football. If N'gog was good enough and at 22, he'd be 1st team too, he's not for a reason. I think Kenny is just trying to be fair giving N'gog and Jova a go. But in time he'll see what I and others see - that they simply aren't good enough and they'll be moved on. I'm sure the opposition freeze in horror when they see N'gog coming on from the bench...

I agree rafarendum, ngog is not the best player in the world but as a back up he's alright. And he has scored as many as Traitorres. There is a big difference between a squad player and journeyman on 90000 a week at the end of their career who couldnt give a fig if the team won or not (which i think is the case for jovo and i have had my doubts for a year on maxi's attitude) Attitude is everything Ngog usually gives 100 percent although I think he was a bit rubbish today even by his standards. He is not a rubbish player, just not the right sort of player to cut it in the premiership- hence his 7 goals came nearly all in the Europa cup. I wouldnt lump him together with the other 2 frankly.

Anyway, really the argument isn't that N'gog isn't good enough for the 1st team, it's that he isn't good enough for even the bench. He comes on and makes up the numbers. A team seeking CL football, needs an impact player who comes on and can replace quality with quality. N'gog doesn't possess that quality, unless a miracle happens he'll never attain that quality either. I'd understand if he was still a teenager, but he's at the crossroads of his career where he proves whether he's good enough, and based on prior performances, it's so obvious he doesn't possess the inate intelligence required to be a striker, nor the first touch. How long should be we give him? All the while lacking the firepower on the bench to effectively change games, which he is incapable of.

can sell him on for profit later. Not big deal, may as well keep him for now. Well I agree with you on that when I already said "Well our left-back and left-wing should be priority for the summer, if we can't get a good backup striker for Carroll and Suarez then sure keep N'gog." Still doesn't mean he's good enough though - he isn't - it's just that he's here so may as well use him.

he hasnt played for a while ngog And on todays performances: Kelly Reina Carrgher Surez Miereles
are the only ones who deserve to be in the starting line up if you look just at today's performances.. Lucas was awful today Johnson was alright got forward a lot. Aurelio was alright, couldnt have set up the strikers for a goal on 2 occasions Kuyt looked like he had run marathon before the match.
On the negative side for ngog he should have been fresh and didnt chase down their defenders when they had the ball , bit unforgiveable really cos comming on as a sub when you a re a holding centre forward you arent going to do anything else. Bad day all round

To be fair to Lucas, he played the full 90 for Brazil, he did look a bit leggy today but it's to be expected. Can't see him playing the Spartak game, unless Hodgson has lent him some Duracell batteries

Well Kuyt's shelflife is coming to it's end, he can't be first team for that much longer, not if we want to improve. And with his wages, he's not worth keeping unless first team - which aint going to happen unless one of two things happen: We fail to get anyone on the right wing come summer. Or, we play 3 up front, which I doubt we will do.
