I think you misunderstand what admitting mistakesentails and I didn't see him in that interview admit to anything, neither have I seen him in any video interview admit to anything.
Admitting a mistake without specifying the mistake(s) in question isn't admitting to anything. It's just typical Benitez half-measures. What is he admitting to? Well we don't know because he wont say. So what's the point.
When asked if he had made mistakes, without specifying, he replied: "Every manager makes mistakes." He then went on to say he was right about substituting Torres. LOL? It was blatantly obvious he was wrong about that, and the puzzled reactions of both Torres and Gerrard made it clear what they thought of it.
So what he does here is give a vague admittance without specifying what mistake(s) he made unlike what Houllier did about signing Diouf and his blunder of not signing Anelka (you can find the interview on a dedication to Anelka DVD) where are actual examples from Benitez as to what mistakes he actually made? THEN he goes on to say he was right substituating Torres which is absolute laughable nonsense.

So where is the video of Benitez admitting a mistake then actually telling us what he is admitting to? The fact remains that he hasn't admitted to anything. It's like saying sorry for something, then not telling anyone what you are apologising for. Vague half-measures, but I guess anything he says is good enough for the pro-Rafa brigade to swallow.
I wont hold my breath for the day he actually tells us what specific thing he's admitting to.
The Rafa lovers can now rant away whilst frantically searching the internet for any quotes they can find with Rafa specifically admitting something, have a blast, you'll be there a long time.

Benitez maintains that was still the right decision – Torres was struggling with exhaustion and a knee problem – but has accepted he has erred in other areas, such as tactics and squad investment. What more do you want? You said he never acknowleged his mistakes, you get your proof and now you want to know the specifics? If the specifics were then given to you you`d ask for something else?

i wont be listening to anything raffa has to say, sorry. my reason is that the one thing he was always able to do was talk. he could sell tea towels to al qaeda. the problem always was, and always will be, that he isnt as good a manager as he is a politician.

Flames was you happy with purslow H&G?So why would Rafa have been,it was those circumstances that forced him to defer from the football and penultimately lose focus, the club was losing £100,000 a day in debt, which was been serviced by selling our best players, are you not glad Rafa bought this to our attention?

well what are we measuring here. are we measuring raffa's ability to raise awareness? because if thats the case he should be in third world countries working for trocaire, and im sure he'd be great at it. if we are measuring his ability as a manager then im sorry but all the excuses in the world wont take away from the fact that he had a potentially very good team, failed to man manage them properly, and was, and always will be, far too arrogant to ever admit it. inter shoved him out the door before he got his coat off, thats how obvious the gap in quality was between him and his predecessor.
