totally disagree with this thread. we needed a new number 9. we just got bags of money for our no.9 and went out and spent less for a new younger one..
yes we needed a striker and we got one but do we really want to spend that kind of money on a player that has only a handful of games at the top level. what happens in the summer when we go in for a player all the other clubs look at how much we payed and think we will pay crazy money for every tom dick and harry. we could end up losing our top target because we wont be able/prepared to pay similer kind of money as we did for caroll
eg if in the summer we go in for shawcoss, they will turn round and say we want X amount of millions just like you paid for caroll. we will end up telling then to f off then we will go to the next target but they will just say the same.
