sorry to start a new thread but i feel very strongly about this topic.

at this precise momment i can say i am ashamed with the action of the club in buying a player of caroll's calibre for 35m. this is way over the top and feel we well be a laughing stock, and i can not bare to see that happen. this is the kind of thing city and the chav do but not my liverpool. i have no problem with us buying caroll but the price tag is wrong. if this is not a one off then it is a sad day for the club.

It is way too much, but we were put in an impossible position. I would have preferred sturridge and 50 mil for torres and the money to be kept for the summer, but it's a good sign in another way as it means more or less kenny is staying for the long term.

Yes 35 mill is a lot but this is the sort of risks and chances we have to take as we have been left so far behind under previous owners if he bangs in 30 a season for the next few years 35 will be a good deal so chill out at least the owners haven't swallowed it up as usual

A great day for the club.

We complain when we spend to less, we complain when we spend too much.

Nobody knows how he will do but I trust the manager and the club.

Keep the faith smile

I`m a big fan of Andy Carroll, think he`s a great addition to the first team. Its a shame its ending so badly with Torres but i have total faith in what Kenny is doing.

its a huge fee but the guy definately has potential. he's only just turned 22, he is powerful going forward and his finishing is top drawer in my opinion. If he keeps out of trouble off the field he will have a bright future a head of him with the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world. Thats my opinion. if anything i think the purchase of carroll is the perfect statement from the owners, that they arent shy to invest in great talent which is something they have said from the start. its more encouraging that discouraging in my view.

Whilst i would argue there has been an element of panic in the purchase i think his style will compliment suarez.
