What does Torres hope to achieve by going now instead of the summer? He can't play in the Champion's League, can he? I can't see Chelsea winning the league and while I expect them to finish in the top four, it's not a given, even with Torres, who must be due another injury lay-off before the end of the season.

So, other than an obscene increase to his already obscene wages, why not wait 'til the summer and see how the land lies here and abroad?
