Hello everyone, my name is Bill. I am new here and love LFC. I believe that as brilliant as Torres has been for us, if he is deluded enough to want to leave, then let him go. Sell him to anyone outside the premiership ideally. If he is to go to Chelsea, let us have £50M plus Anelka. For me, anyone who does not want to play for the club are a potential dead weight. It amazes me that he wants to leave right now because in truth, we are now post debt, post ownership worries and in truth I can only see LFC making a massive improvement over the next 12 to 18 months. PS..The ultimate in irony would be that Chelsea miss out on the champions league with Torres in their team! What do you think?

I knew a girl from Lowestoft anyhow Bill i see like this,We owe Torres nothing. Liverpool should feel no guilt over how Torres's career is panning out. Great players lead their teams to success. Gerrard did it with Liverpool with a poorer team than Torres ever played in. Ronaldo did it with Utd. Torres has done it with neither of his two clubs and that's with playing in a great team (08-09).

It's a fact that Torres gained most of his injuries with Spain and not at Liverpool. It's a fact that we allowed him to be operated so that's he could be ready for the WC, rather than playing him and putting in a challenge for 4th and winning the EL. Liverpool made him. There's no place he's scored more goals than at Anfield. Any other place, and he turns average.

So will people just shut up about the broken promises and what not? bottom line is great players make their team great. Torres has proved incapable of doing that and maybe he should have a look at himself, rather than blaming other people for his lack of trophies.

The only players we should be looking at to replace torres are

1) Neymar
2) Pato
3) Aguero

they are the only players who are good enough and are also realistic targets

My take on tomorrow is:

We will sign charlie adam for around 8-10m and announce luis suarez officially.

The warnock loan deal will also be concluded.

I also think torres will stay, just a hunch but surely abramovich shud have been back immediately to match the 50m and get the deal done if he'd have really wanted him - it is after all small change to him.

Personally i think we'd be a better team in the long term without nando - he's never really shown a capacity to operate with a strike partner (except a deeper lying gerrard)crouch, keane et al are not bad players. Hows he gonna fit in at chelsea with drogba??!?

i think the deal is either already done or Chelsea are playing some sort of publicity stunt to there own fans and have no intention of signing Torres in this window...

a point often missed and you touched on is that Torres struggled with a partner. LFC bests sides had options, all changed the shape or style to suit. If we spend our money wisely this could be the aking of LFC.
