I remember when he came on in the 2006 semi at OT he ran us ragged. But I guess that was a long time ago it would be great if he got back to form it would be like a new major signing because he has contributed nothing so far.

I sincerely hope you're right.
The bloke deserves a good run in the first team to show the potential he undoubtably possesses.

i agree. am not a fan a maxi and i would like to see cole instaed of him. in saying that i think coles best position is playing the free role getting the freedom to roam. i dont think his the best in that position at liverpool so dont really think we need him. should sell him and get maybe 8/9m in the summer

we should be in a win win situation with j.cole...if he starts playing to his old form then brilliant if not the guy would generate a good transfer fee for the club.....i personal hope he gets a run in the team and does well

Kenny has played this one spot on. Put him in the other night to keep the guy sharp and match fit and also probably to see if the hunger and desire to play in the first team is there?

I hope he keeps playing him in these games maybe he'll appreciate then when he does get a chance that he has to perform from the off.

We can't have any slackers in the team now and I think it was obvious against Wolves that the spirit and old school dare I say it Blackpool ethos was evident.

Cole will get his chance. I just hope he takes it and finally turns the potential into world class performances.

The thing that really concerns me about Joe Cole is that it's clear he's just not good enough out wide, so his only good position appears to be just off the striker. He's played quite well there in the few chances he got, but the fact that he's competing with SG there and looking at how Meireles is making a real stake for the position as well under Kenny, coupled with our forays into 4-4-2, he's kinda getting left out in the cold. I think that just about the only way he will get games now is if Gerrard plays on the right in 4-2-3-1, or if SG is a forward in 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-3.

I believe that Kenny will have to seriously consider Gerrard as RM in 4-4-2 if we sign Suarez, and that may leave a bit of space for Cole on the bench so that we can change the game by changing our formation (sub him on/off for Suarez/Torres to change a 4-4-2 game into one of the various 4-5-1 set-ups or vice versa). This leaves us with a good plan B, imo, so he can still be a valuable player for us (think of how many goals Babel scored as a substitute under Rafa). But in all honesty he's not going to have the first team game time he thought he was signing up for. The same goes for Pacheco, sadly. We have a blessing of riches in attacking midfield, but we're intent on signing a striker, something that leaves me dumbstruck every single time I read Suarez's name.

I also see no issue with Cole playing in the reserves, especially if he's not match fit.

Joe cole has not done it for us so far.
I hope for ours and his sake he finds his feet again.
We have not lost anything with him really.
Give him until the end of the season his 100grand a week wages either needs to take a cut or he moves on.
