that is probably the same as 20m in todays money. for me he was one of the sh!test strikers we have ever had that played on a regular basis. plus hated it when houllier would defend him and say all he needs is confidence, what he really needed was talent
unfortunately that is what you have to pay to get english players these days. Benitez said this about 5 years ago. The british market is completely crazy

Houllier backed him so much because he had to warrant the ridclious fee we paid for him.
Silly price I agree, but they are near relegation zone, he will score goals in the Premier League & keep them up. So in that way is it OTT? If Villa wanna pay it so be it, anyway I dont think they spent the Milner money.
It is silly money but we are talking about paying the same amount of money for Suarez who is playing in a much inferior league in Europe. Suarez might be a better player but who is the bigger risk. Bent atleast will always score goals in the EPL- Suarez might turn out to be a total flop or a magnificient signing!!!!!
