Yes, I agree with what you're saying in essence, but I just cannot get me nut around the massive slide in performance over the 3 months break in the summer of 2009.
All because of Alonso leaving, just one man? I can't believe that.

Just saying that i dont think you can pinpoint one single event that sent everything tits up,although Alonso's departure did'nt help.

But giving it deep thought, I think that was the catalyst. Must have been.
What else could have sparked it off?

I can't believe just how bad things have become just because of one player moving on, but I really don't know what else to believe.

Cliché, i know but one man dont make a team,and tbf as much as i rate Xabi he did have a few shockers too.

To unfold my ideas a bit more, I'd like to add the following: Not only did we lose a few outstanding players such as Alonso and Arbeloa. At the same time we replaced them with utter garbage TBQH.

The swing didn't turn from positive to neutral there, but swung over to massive negative. Our balance was gone on and off the pitch.

So, on the positive side, now we should have a huge upside quite easily reachable - all we need is 2-3 REALLY GOOD PLAYERS. Not any SWP's or Parkers, but pure Class Acts! Then we should be able to kick the swing in the positive direction again!

It went wrong when LFC didn't hire Topscout.

The loss of alonso was just the first of many bad decisions made one after the other.

Loss of arbeloa
£20m for an injured player to replace xabi.
Loss of hypia
loss of riise
keane being treated unfairly due to our stubborn manager
our signings last summer were awful
