There's nothing like rubbing fans faces in it, when we are in such desperate times!

Liverpool have launched their new third kit for the 2022/23 season with a special theme celebrating flags and banners.

Liverpool stars in the new third kit top

Liverpool have unveiled their new third kit for the 2022/23 season - and its theme celebrates the flags and banners taken across Europe by the travelling Kop.

The Reds had already launched their home and away strips earlier in the summer, and have now announced their alternate kit. It features a predominantly green shirt, with red on the club badge and lining. The colour scheme is described as "Dark Atomic Teal and Rio Teal, with Siren Red sleeve cuff".

Liverpool will wear the kit on away matches in Europe, as well as away games in the Premier League against sides that have a strip that would clash with the team's home or away kits. The Reds travel to Naples to face Serie A outfit Napoli on Wednesday night in their first group match of the Champions League campaign.

Liverpool's new third kit

Liverpool explained: "The Club’s change kits have long been linked to European competitions and with the Champions League group stages back this week, LFC has taken the opportunity to salute the supporter tradition that’s a huge part of its rich European history and success."

A special custom-made banner by supporter and flag maker Mark Sweatman has also been produced for the launch, and it takes centre stage in a new video also released today. The footage was filmed at the Olympia in Liverpool and the soundtrack is supplied by local Liverpool band (and Reds fans) The Cheap Thrills.

Similar to the new season's home and away strips , the away kit is also sustainably made, with on the pitch and replica jerseys constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

The reverse of the jersey also features the 97 emblem encased by the eternal flames sitting proudly at the nape of the neck in memory of those children, women and men who lost their lives at Hillsborough.

For the new season, a different Liverpool name and number style has been introduced for the back of shirt, which takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on Liverpool’s historic street signs.

The kit is available to pre-order on the club’s official online store and store app from today - with full launch instore and online from 12 September.

FSG can go and fk themselves, not buying a shirt this season after such a cheap transfer window. And when I see the United fans protesting against their owners who have allowed such large sums in transfers....
