Premier League clubs are considering scrapping FA Cup replays in the third and fourth rounds permanently, according to the Times.

The plan for a revamp in the footballing schedule will be top of the agenda at the league's shareholders meeting on Wednesday.

Another significant proposal for Liverpool includes teams who compete in Europe either fielding under-21 teams for the League Cup or not competing in the competition at all.

Any thoughts on this?

I think no replays is fine given the number of games teams play. As for fielding under 21s, I don't understand, nobody is preventing anybody to field whoever they want isn't it, there shouldn't be any restrictions? Otherwise Liverpool's proposal is laughable because others shouldn't be penalised because we have opted to have a thin squad

If they are scrapping replays they should also consider scrapping extra time and just go straight to penalties if it finishes tied after 90 mins and injury time.

The fact of adding an extra 30 mins on top of knockout competition to try to find a winner to then go to penalties to find a winner is kind of defeating the objective. Going straight to penalties will not only help their intent to make scheduling easier but it will also unburden clubs players from fatigue and injuries.

They just want to make scheduling easier
