just happy with a manager who plays attacking football and will play his strongest teams in the domestic cups, couldn't care less about winning the league or champions league as for me both are dead competitions for us and I have seen them win both more than enough in the past to not worry if we never won them again.

Well that's a bit selfish G Mo.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

My prediction is that we will be in 8th spot come January and Klopp will splash some cash on 3 or 4 players and we will climb up to 6th. We wont win anything. Klopp may hang on for a while but I have lost faith I am afraid. I reckon he will be at Bayern in August 2018.

Some managers are better than others, to state the obvious, however no manager can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, no matter how good they are. Klopp, while having his weaknesses, isn't totally at fault here, neither were any of the other managers who preceded him, they are all victims of a failed moneyball experiment. Klopp has brought in better quality players than his predecessors imo, however his failure to sort the dysfunctional defence is now the millstone round his and ourneck, it may sink him, but I'm inclined to think he'll survive and learn from this amazing blind spot. He could still sign VvD in January, and as you say maybe a couple more. I hope for his and our sakes he concentrates on quality defenders, assuming FSG sanction it. Imo we can live with a pretty un creative midfield, and a misfiring front three until next season, when this issue will also have to be addressed, but the Defence has to be the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th priority in January, if we're not already blown away by then. If Klopp can sort the defence or even patch it up a bit in January, he could go on to succeed here, despite some obvious weaknesses.

I think the owners made a brilliant choice in Jurgen Klopp. He is famous for being successful with Dortmund, and he is entertaining on the sidelines and with the media. So he is a good "figure-head" manager.

This combined with a top 4 or top 6 finish in the league is considered to be "the plan".

I would be pleasantly surprised if we pick up a "token" trophy along the way, but I cant see it happening at all.

I would settle for a top six place in the League every season and an FA Cup, League Cup or Europa League every other season...more than happy...oh and entertaining football, win, lose or draw...

Giorgio, I forgot to mention in my previous post that the low expectation makes me sick to my stomach and the acceptance of LFC being "average" is humiliating.
