sorry if this topic has been done to death, its been a while since i've been on.
i was at tonights game and i would like to make a few points about the match and the managers performance in general and would love to hear other peoples thoughts. i would like to point out that i have always been a big supporter for rodgers but i think time is running out for him now and he's beginning to be found out. he just isn't good enough:
first of all, his reluctance to play 2 up top is costing us.
this is his fourth season in charge and he still can't find his best team / system.
we still can't defend / have no defensive coach... despite having the one of the worst defensive records in the last 4 years.
we make random substitutions that have zero impact on the game and our bench was very weak tonight, another sign of arrogance... (where is the logic is bringing coutinho on and brining of your main striker? / what is the point in replacing toure for sakho?)
he's blaming "not having the right tools to do the job". all of the players who have left, suarez, gerrard and sterling were already at the club before he joined. he's had £300m to spend yet still doesn't have the tools? a bad workman's excuse! absolute cop out.
we always, without doubt, manage to fail in europe one way or another. god help us if we actually make the top 4 again under his management. we are gonna get embarrassed again in the CL. this man just does not have what it takes to compete in Europe, plain and simple. always comes off second best to any half decent manager out there.
when was the last time we actually won a game in europe?
there is no plan b. there is no game changing substitution ever. you never see him switch to a 4-4-2 in desperate attempt to win a game. we look just as vulnerable with 3/5 at the back. he's a one trick pony.
he signed markovic for £20m, yet one year later decides his liverpool career is over and persists with jordon ibe instead. couldn't this decision have been made a year ago and the extra £20m could have been put towards a much better striker? same goes for paying £5m for the manquillo two year loan and farming out wisdom, only to cancel the deal half way through.
i think managers like benitez were always on the same wave length as the fans. they understood the traditions of the club and bought into the liverpool way. LFC is a family after all. rodgers seems to be so disconnected with the fans and almost delusional at times... still talking about the top spot after the aston villa game. then blaming he doesn't have the right tools to do the job. just admit we've not been good enough and you're gonna do your all to put it right. we're a million miles away from sitting at the top of the table, so why even say something like that in a press conference? he's got some cheek!
we lose the 4th best striker in the world and replace him with a meat factory worker. oh and balotelli.
i think its time boys and girls. i'm not one to bash managers and show them disrespect but i just don't think its worked out for him in the end. wish him all the best

I think we have bigger problems than just Rodgers. When FSG won't even consider Klopp when we could sign him then we are in trouble I think. Rodgers is talking all the flack, but this mess is not all down to him.
At this stage I don't think a new manager is going to make a massive difference. FSG want another yes man

I forgot we were even playing tonight. starting to lose interest. I was a bit tired last night - didn't even bother to watch a match that started at 8 o'clock and went to bed instead. I can pretty much gather how it went.....

Hope it worries the owners. Hope it gives them a swift kick up the backside. There's two brilliant managers out of work at the moment, the longer we leave it the more competition we'll have in getting them in... I'd say Chelsea will be in the market before long..
