West Ham United are preparing to launch a transfer bid for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, claim reports today.
The Hammers are hoping to fund a bid by selling former Reds’ hitman Andy Carroll in the summer, with a number of clubs said to be interested in his services.
It is claimed that West Ham would then be willing to offer Liverpool up to £25million for Sturridge who looks certain to be sold if a buyer can be found.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is hoping that the 28-year-old can be shipped out although publicly he is unlikely to admit that knowing that the player’s valuation would then plummet.
Crystal Palace are also thought to have an interest in Sturridge so they too may step up with an offer at the end of the season.
