POST-MATCH COMMENTS

“It was five against one, near the sideline, and nobody won the ball. Then cross, Andy Carroll, 2-0, thank you very much! If you know the other team has Andy Carroll, how can you allow crosses? It was not enough from my team today. The decisive moments we were there, but we were not there 100 per cent. We could have done much better. We had our moments, we tried, but if you fight at 95 per cent then it’s not enough. It’s my responsibility. I’m angry about myself today,” – Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool manager

“We created many not only on the break but from open play and we could have scored more. To keep a clean sheet at home to Liverpool is brilliant for the fans and it’s a brilliant start to the New Year. We played a really good game – especially in the second half. Of course Liverpool had their moments because they are a good passing team but we defended really well as a team,” – Slaven Bilic, West Ham manager

  1. James Collins just struck lottery – he’s going home with £32.5million in his pocket ! The most annoying thing about Benteke… is the fact that he makes each and every single poor/average PL goalkeepers & defenders look like Neuer, Maldini… week in week out. I say get rid of that good-for-nothing MF and buy a proper CF who at least score from simple tap-ins.

  2. Totally agree , Klopp has given every one a fair chance to show what they are about and what they can do . He must now know the majority of his players are simply not good enough or simply cant be arsed . He has his work cut out but at least he knows what hes doing more than the useless twat who preceded him . The sooner he ships some of these wankers out the better!!!

  3. Benteke’s body language today said it all. He did not care whether he dribbled past defenders or beat the defenders on headers or scored a freakin’ goal! Unbelievable the chances he had which went to waste! 10M worth Origi would have nailed 1 or even 2 goals today with the chances that Benteke had!

Liverpool had NO PRESENCE today in West Ham’s penalty box. Credit to West Ham they did not park the bus in front of the goal. We were just plain and simply AWFUL. Lucky West Ham did not score another pair on us.

    • Hate to say this but he’s useless mate. Make no mistake, this isn’t a guy who’s running low on confidence… he’s just a mediocre player who’s been offered the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and he’s cracking under pressure. Heard some fans saying… “he’s trying his best” which clearly is an understatement since he’s been appalling since day one… even his few decisive goals can’t justify his abysmal performances.

  4. Brighton Red

the only plus today was JK’s post match pressers, time now for a bit of arse kicking ~ out of L4

  5. On a different note, looks like we have made contact with the Ter Stegen camp and also, we’re closely monitoring Guerrero as a possible replacement for Enrique & a competition for Moreno… these guys would be a serious upgrade on Mignolet & Moreno. We’ll be back in business next season only if we can acquire a few more players of that quality over the summer.
