Stoke City linked with late move for Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva

Stoke City have reportedly made a deadline day approach for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva.

It is claimed that Mark Hughes has enquired about the possibility of taking the 30-year-old to the Britannia Stadium as he looks to strengthen his squad for the second half of the season.

However, Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp wants to retain Lucas until the summer and with his side in action against Chelsea this evening, few supporters would expect to see a player such as Lucas moved out today.

Former Reds Peter Crouch, Charlie Adam and Glen Johnson are all at Stoke but we can’t see Lucas joining them ahead of tonight’s deadline.
