Steven Gerrard has confirmed that he did speak to MK Dons about the possibility of becoming their manager.
The 36-year-old Liverpool legend is considering his options ahead of a return to England following his 18-month deployment with MLS side LA Galaxy.
Gerrard said: “I spoke to them. I had a chat with the chairman and I think it’s a really exciting job for someone else.
“It’s a bit soon for me, but it’s true I did speak to them.
“I’m just taking a bit of time to consider what’s next.
“It’s exciting times moving forward.”
The former Reds’ skipper has the option of returning to Anfield in a coaching capacity but he does have other offers. Some pundits thought he may opt to team up with former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez at Newcastle United. He has also been linked with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic.
