Sadio Mané is due to step up his return from injury by returning to full training at Melwood next week.
The 25-year-old Liverpool ace underwent knee surgery as a result of the injury he picked up against Everton at Anfield back in April and is close to joining his team-mates for ‘group’ training.
Although he’s not a million miles away from making his return to action, Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp isn’t going to rush him back for the pre-season friendlies that are coming up against Tranmere (12th July) and Wigan (14th July). Providing he doesn’t suffer any setbacks, Mané should instead make his return in The Premier League Asia Trophy which gets underway on 19th July.

Meanwhile, Liverpool striker Danny Ings is also making progress behind the scenes.
The 24-year-old is also recovering from a knee injury that he sustained last year and he knows that the forthcoming season is going to be a big one for him on a personal level.
“I’m doing really well at the moment,” said Ings. “Timescale-wise, I’m unsure but I’m feeling closer and closer every day. I’m back doing ball work. My fitness levels are getting back, it has been a while. I’m enjoying it and I’m feeling strong.
“If you dwell on things too long, you’ll never make it back. You need to obviously be hurt for a while but then you need to get your head down, focus and crack on.
“That’s always been my mentality. There wasn’t really any other choice.”
