LIVERPOOL MIDFIELDER ATTRACTING ATTENTION

Paris St Germain reportedly want to sign Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.

Out of contract in the summer, the 31-year-old’s representatives are currently exploring what interest there is in the England international due to the Reds having so far not approached them regarding extending his stay at Anfield. A number of clubs are said to be interested with the surprise suggestion now being that PSG are one of them.

As he only has six months remaining on his current deal, Lallana is free to discuss a possible free transfer with an overseas club from January 1st. There has been chatter linking him with a possible move to China or the MLS but at the moment, we can probably assume that the player himself hasn’t a clue where he’ll be plying his trade next season.

Lallana was signed from Southampton in 2014 for £25million by former Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers. At the time of securing his dream move to Anfield, Lallana said: “I am so excited for the next chapter of my career, coming to a special club like Liverpool.

“Hopefully I can settle in quickly and I will give it my best throughout the whole time I’m here.

“I hope I can add something to the team and hopefully we can win trophies. That’s why I’m here – for success.”

And he did go on to achieve some success with Liverpool. He collected a UEFA Champions League Winners medal (2018-19), a UEFA Super Cup winners medal (2019) and runners up medals for the UEFA Champions League (2017-18), UEFA Europa League (2015-16) and the League Cup (2015-16).

Lallana’s long term future remains unresolved but over the coming months things will become much clearer.
