Reports in Spain today claim that a decision about Philippe Coutinho’s future is due soon.
The former Liverpool ace, who has tried several times to secure a dream move back to Anfield, remains in transfer limbo with Barcelona desperate to offload him during the summer. The latest suggestions are that Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester are looking at the possibility of taking the 27-year-old Brazilian on loan for the 2020-21 season.
Although Liverpool have shown no signs of having an interest in re-signing Coutinho, the Spanish media believe that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp would be interested in a deal for him if the price was right and we would agree with that.
It is mooted that Barcelona want a loan fee of around £18.2million for Coutinho and that any clubs would have to agree to take on his £9.1million wages (£175,000-a-week). Both sums would be unacceptable to Liverpool so they would have to be significantly reduced for something to happen.
