Philippe Coutinho wants to make a return to European Champions, Liverpool. The 27-year-old Brazilian is unhappy at Barcelona and “deeply regrets” leaving Anfield, claim sources close to Liverpool officials.
One of our most reliable and trusted sources posted on the KopTalk members’ website last week that Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian had offered his client to Liverpool and since then speculation has intensified with the media suggesting that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is interested in signing him.
The source posted: “Philippe’s agent has spoken to Liverpool to see if they would be interested in signing him. The player has also indicated via former teammates that he would be open to a return.”
Asked if Liverpool were interested, the source responded: “It’s been looked at but apparently the manager is looking at someone else.”
It is claimed that all of the speculation you are being subjected to is a result of the player’s agent trying to instigate a move back to Anfield.
Joorabchian insists that Barcelona won’t sell but he has stated today that there is a 40% chance of the player making a return to England. Manchester United and Chelsea (prior to their transfer ban) have been linked but Joorabchian claims Coutinho wouldn’t be interested in signing for a rival club. This, of course, has been put out there to try and help secure a move back to Anfield.
KOPTALK sources insist that the Liverpool manager has 2 potential deals lined up, which are not related to Coutinho, but that Klopp is biding his time in relation to moving forward with them as he feels both deals are not financially attractive enough. In other words, if the holding clubs lower their valuations, business may be done.
A different source commented today: “Coutinho deeply regrets leaving Liverpool. If Liverpool can agree something with Barcelona he will return to Anfield.
“Right now the manager seems more focused on other options but if the numbers are attractive, something could happen.
“You could say that the manager has 3 players (Coutinho is one of them) who would jump at the chance to come in but as was proven with Matthijs de Ligt, wanting the move isn’t enough. The expenditure has to be right for the manager.
“There is no truth that Liverpool are currently trying to sign Coutinho, it is Coutinho who is trying to sign for Liverpool.”
